Medical Doctor

Dr. Deborah Gilboa’s remarkable career in theatre that jumped into medicine to become a family physician, including her responsibilities as a parent of four children, have equipped her to deal with stress and sudden change. She has worked as a practicing family physician, while also serving as a Clinical Associate Professor for the University of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine. She has received many awards for clinical excellence in teaching, including the Alpha Omega Alpha Volunteer Clinical Faculty Award.

Before her medical career she worked at theaters across the country, including the Second City in Chicago and Deaf West Theater in Los Angeles, a defining experience as she became fluent in American Sign Language. Her work with the Deaf community has received national recognition and was the focus of her service as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow.

Throughout this journey, Dr. Deborah Gilboa discovered her main passion: understanding how to deal with stress and pressure, while instilling in her own kids, but also people around her, the all-important capacity of resilience to handle life’s curveballs. Her mission now lies in helping companies and their teams to withstand challenges and manage stress better. Demanding tasks, tight deadlines, high expectations and endless notifications on our screens are competing for our attention and are robbing us of the pleasure of enjoying our work and lives. Her goal is to teach us not to simply cope, but thrive, during times of change. Her message is straightforward and essential: Do stress better. Be resilient.
